Droptine Repaired

4 1/2 years old.

I would have guessed him more than 181" from the pics you posted.

My guess on his age would be 5 years ?
You guys had the same thinking I had a young buck with some cool character.

The fish and game caught him as a fawn in the spring of 2000. So it put his age at 6.5 years old. I wish I could see how old my wifes buck was because the head on that thing was huge compared to mine. The skull was 1" longer and .5 wider then mine.

Thanks guys on the complements on the repair.

That is interesting that he was tagged back in 2000. I would have guessed he was a 4 1/2 or 5 1/2 year old deer. Just goes to show you how important age is for a muley to grow a large rack.

WOW what a drop tine !!! how many hrs do you have in it?? again NICE job!!
Sorry MC I missed this the first time. I had about 3-4 hours into the droptine (forming, making the grooves and ridges, notches, etc.) Then I had about 7-8 hours in the different staining combinations I used. I need to add that I made a couple of extra tines so I could try out different stains on them also.
