Draft Thoughts

I'm going to call a wildcard the Bears take QB Carson Wentz of North Dakota State let him sit for a year and then cut Jay Cutler after the season for 2 million dead money hit in 2017 and 1 million hit in 2018. A 61 million dollar savings by cutting or trading Jay Cutler Next year.

The Bears will address other needs in the draft by taking the best player available and by spending the 52 million in cap space in free agency.

Next year with most of the guaranteed money on Cutler's money gone and only 3 million left out to pay if he is not on the roster would be a good time to move him.

nhy, I heard a radio show say that the Browns will take a salary cap hit if they release Manziel too early. Only the Browns can mess things up that badly. A;lso, I wouldn't be surprised if the Boys make a run for Wentz. FCS quarterbacks ain't too bad. mtmuley

If the Vikings had taken Manziel with pick #9, I think I would have become a Packer or Cowboy fan. Thankfully, they took Anthony Barr, then traded up to get Bridgewater as the last pick in the 1st round of that draft.

Management is paid to get it right. Looking at the tire fire Manziel has brought to the league and measuring the results of the next two QBs taken, Bridgewater and Carr (who will finish his career as the best QB in this draft), the Browns need to burn the joint down and start over. Anyone remotely associated with that draft, down to the director of Pop Warner scouting, needs to be sent packing. The Browns ownership will never get it right. The best thing Jimmy Haslam, Browns owner, could do is go on a ten year drunk far away from the team and see how things look after they release him from the drunk tank a decade later.

As painful as life can be as a Vikings fan, I cannot even imagine being a Browns fan. Johnny Football is a perfect example of all that is wrong with the Browns.

And to think the Browns might have been able to Hershal Walker him to Dallas last year like the Queens should have done with Peterson.

Anyone want to bet he shows up in Dallas before he Tebow's himself out of the league?

I was so sad to see them draft Danny Shelton last year. The kid has a tremendous story, overcoming tremendous adversity in life, consensus All-American, Academic All-American only to be relegated to the football wasteland on Lake Erie.

As bad as that draft was It doesn't begin to explain why the browns are that bad. The year Manziel was drafted the browns were a winning football team. I will say that again: the browns were WINNING. 7-4 with Brian Hoyer at QB but there was a large contingent of browns fans that weren't satisfied with winning "ugly". They were chanting "Johnny" while another quarterback was winning. Eventually, brass gave in and ruined that season and the next. Everyone around here says that browns fans are the best in the league but I maintain that we are one of the worst fan bases. We don't deserve a winner, so we won't have one.
