Draft Thoughts

I think far and away, St. Louis had the best first round. The best offensive and defensive linemen in the same round is awesome. And yes, clowney was drafted as a DE but will play linebacker in Houston. Next, I would put the Vikings because they moved up for Bridgewater who I believe is the QB most ready to play now. Ponder is done and if bridgewater can't beat him out, it doesn't matter anyway. Then there is Cleveland. I live about an hour west of Cleveland and have been a browns fan my whole life. I was so pumped when they traded down and then up to get gilbert. Then manzel's name was called and my joy went to despair. I hope im wrong but I don't think he will succeed in Cleveland because he isn't a good decision maker, on or off the field. Run around, throw off the back foot and hope evans can catch it, does that sound a recipe for success in the nfl? There is a reason nobody does in the pros what he did in college, because it doesn't work. I'm counting on Hoyer.

agree. I think Bridgwater will do well, plus his size will help too.

Honestly, I could care less. I'm getting ready for walleye fishing this summer, and looking for my next fall freezer filler.

Great draft and fun to watch! Die hard Steelers fan here and I couldn't be happier with Ryan Shazier!!! LOVE this pick! The dude is an absolute FREAK and should be an explosive weapon for LeBeau to use especially in their sub packages. They have been missing a true a playmaker very badly.. He ran a 4.36 as an ILB  Excited for week 1 vs. Manziel :D

Johnny Football might learn to dislike Ryan Shazier immensely! Pittsburgh got a good athlete there.

I love the Broncos pick. For a CB, Roby has quite the nasty streak to him. Hopefully he can play with same level of physicality in the NFL.

I am left intrigued by the prospect of Houston picking up Carr in round 2, unless I missed something.

One Steelers Fan to another...

They've also been missing a cohesive O-Line for the last two years. I hope they work on that in the later rounds... Shazier should be a Monster in a Dick LaBeau defense. I'm kinda excited for that.

No need for the draft.... My son just enlisted in the US Marines. He decided not to go back to college, not to serve a church mission.

Ships out to boot camp in October.

IMO, the finest young man the Marines have had since the draft.

As for the NFL draft, I lose interest after college ball.

Oorah

Judging by his reaction when he was announced by flashing his "show me the money" gestures I'm going to say it didn't. I'm ready to see him put in his place.

Being the Brown #2 choice behind Gilbert had to be somewhat humbling as well.

I live an hour east of Cleveland these days, so glad I was raised a steelers fan! So far the steelers have been drafting speed. But I'm still waiting to see a corner back come off the board in our direction. That being said I think those coaches know football a little better then me..

What do I think....I think if you gave the Jets every pick in the first round we'd still be a 9 and7 at best. I pray and cheer but the end result is always the same.....

Who watched Sam's reactive celebration and didn't think it was a Modern Family episode?:D

Here!, watched in amazement and then as they replayed it over, and over and over. Couldn't get enuf. SC was TMZd for awhile yesterday. Good for Sam!

+1 on the Steelers rocking the draft.

On paper, by far the best draft in the Tomlin-Colbert era. For a team in desperate need of some fast playmakers boy did they select some studs. I think each of the top 4 selections will have an impact on the upcoming season for them. They should be a dangerous team on 3rd down on both sides of the ball with all that speed. Bell/Blount, Brown, Wheaton, Bryant, Heath Miller, and Dre Archer in the backfield or in the slot should give D coordinators headaches. They are now extremely fast and younger on D as well. Shazier will be a fun player to watch for many years. Coach Munchek and the Mike Mitchell signings are two huge moves. Really excited to see this young team fight to reclaim the division next year!
