This photo shows me with two dandy blacktail bucks downed within northern California back in the 1990's. At the time, I was stationed at Travis AF Base. I had permission to hunt near a large vineyard in Pope Valley of Napa County.

Found this old picture of my grandpa from 1965. Talking to the old men around his home town, they said people drove in just to check out the big buck. Apparently bucks like that weren't very common in north central ND back then.

Here is my first ever mule deer. You don't get many chances to hunt mulies in ND, so I was more than happy to wrap my tag on this guy.

This past fall I hunted and filmed with 3 adaptive hunters. We filled all three tags, but for some reason I only have pictures with two of them. It was an experience I'll never forget.

2020 Montana muley - my first deer. I grew up in central Washington where mule deer are a common sight, never paid them any mind though. Hunting these things completely changed my perspective on them. What badass animals they are.

Got my 2020 buck back today.

The doe was the first deer I’d ever been all by myself for… maybe 4 years ago now. It went smoothly and I was proud of myself. The baby buck is my first buck ever. I felt dumb after approaching, that I didn’t wait for a better FIRST buck.. then the better whitey measured just over 140” gross before drying. Never re-measured. Can’t wait to beat my PB.. also took my wife out last year for her first deer. Never found the photo since I gotta new phone but I attached the DIY euro from it. Just a forkhorn mulie- I know that she’s looking forward to trying to 1-up this year. And I look forward to being right behind her
