Not Virginia anymore!
So I'm heading back to Virginia (from Bozeman) for a week in May. Does anyone have a hole in the wall secret dinner between here and there I should hit up? I'm working on catching a fish in every state and plan to check Maryland, Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota off the list on the way back to Montana. If I get each one of those, I should be about 15 states from checking off another line on my life list. Let me know if you've got any suggestions for a nice little creek or lake to hit up. Looking for quantity not quality. I don't have time to spend four days chasing steelhead or 30" in browns.

If you take I-64 through Indiana, I can give you a pretty good suggestion for bass/bluegill not too terribly far from the interstate.

I'm actually staying with a buddy in Franklin (south of Indy) on my way back. He lives on a lake somewhere up there and plans on taking me out around there. Thanks though.

Let me know if you want to check Iowa off your list!I could give you some leads if you let me know what you are looking to catch and how.

Memphis,TN... right on the 55 bypass... It was under Construction...I was at a W.S.O.P. poker tourny in Tunica MS.... they sent me up the road to the[ Stateline] Best Barbi Q I ever ate... also Any fresh Catfish along the Mississippi... Tell the Brothers CJ says hi... real down home folks in that area

Cornfed, yes, I do need to a few fish out of Iowa. I haven't put much thought into it though. I was thinking about knocking on some farmers' doors until I found a little pond to fish. Let me know if you've got some ideas that you don't mind sharing.

CJCJ, probably won't drop down that far south this time around, but I could go for some fried fish. Let me know if you know of anywhere in the Kansas/Missouri area.

I'm full of ideas just need to know where you might be coming through the state.

All have good fishing oportunities.Let me know what your looking for when it gets a little closer to trip time.

If you want MN, IA, and WI buy a WI one day license in La Crosse. If you fish between the railroad track on the Mississippi you can use the WI in all 3 states (at least you could 7 years ago). Catch a fish in La Crosse, head over the river to La Cresent then south on Hwy 26 walk the spillway out of Reno catch a fish or two, then south to Lansing, Iowa.

So I made it home from my trip back East. Got in one morning of turkey hunting before it started raining. Had three jakes coming in before another flippin' coyote foiled my plans. Once the rain started around Broadus, MT it didn't stop until Blacksburg, VA. It was ridiculous. Almost 2,100 miles of rain. I did manage to do some fishing on the way back and was able to cross Maryland (bluegill and largemouth), Ohio (really big bluegill and largemouth), Indiana (smallmouth and bluegill), and Wisconsin (tons of browns) off my list of states to catch a fish in. Southwest Wisconsin was beautiful. Great fishing too. Nothing big, but some of the best surface action I've had in a while. Was planning on hitting up Minnesota and Iowa too, but the wind was ripping the day I was driving through.

Should have came across to NC (while in VA) if you still have that one to fill. I would have hooked you up on something.
