I receive a bunch of crane skulls and have no idea how to clean them. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If you try the boiling method, I would be extra careful not to go too hot or too long. The bones are much more delicate than a mammal, and that method does cause things to become more brittle. Maybe try that sous vide method?

Maceration might be a decent option but a lot longer time, especially if you are somewhere cold.

When I had my beetles I did a turkey head once. There are a TON of tiny little bones! I would do something to keep each skull in a separate container or something. Even with beetles it was a pain to figure out how all those bones went back together and I only was doing one skull. If you are doing multiple you need to for sure do something to keep them together.
