After striking out on all the draws this year. My last resort was a leftover coues deer tag here in AZ. I went solo and had my sights set on an 80in or better buck.
Opening morning I found four bucks but none that I wanted to shoot at. The first evening was a bust. This morning I went back to where I had seen the bucks on opening day. Shortly after grey light I picked up a buck. He was far off but I made my way towards him.
I was able to come over the ridge right above him. Once he came out into the open, I promptly air mailed a round right above him. Luckily he froze and I was able to get off another shot. I didn't do the best job on the pics. It was steep and being by myself I was trying to hurry.
My 2014 leftover coues buck.
