This was a fun build. It started out as a H&R Handi Rifle in .444 Marlin. It had headspacing issues so it made a good candidate for a redux.

I started out by cutting the barrel tenon, then I cut the factory barrel in front of the locking block, bored and threaded the barrel stub for its new tube.

I also contoured the barrel to match factory.

Next I cut the extractor groove. Then I welded up and re-machined the extractor for the new cartridge.

I made and installed the new forend stud.

Here you can see where the original barrel was cut.

I stripped the camo off the stocks and cerakoted everything. We went with Burnt Bronze and Graphite Black. I've named the project "Fool's Gold" because the stock pattern reminds me of Pyrite.

As spicy as the 460 Rowland is, recoil is still pretty minimal. It's a pussycat when shooting .45 ACP.

I know you said on IG that it's not for sale, but dang man, you could sell those! My 11-year-old is ready to hunt but she's tiny, something like this in a slightly smaller pistol cartridge would be perfect for her.

Thank you.
I have to put that on all my posts or IG and FB flag them. Most get overturned but it's a huge inconvenience.

This was for a client, they supplied the donor for the work. It's not cheap to do but the end product is neat.

CVA and Henry both make single shots that would be great for small shooters. Something in 300BO or 350L would do the job nicely.

I bought a CVA Apex one time and it kinda soured me on break open rifles. Funny, they don't make that one anymore. I got to learn about oversize breach pins though. It did lead me to discover that I like the 7mm-08 as they ran out of 300 wm barrels to send me to replace the ones I had that weren't working.
