I've seen this deer the last 3 years and passed on him, he's always been just a 6pt. Wednesday evening I stuck him, shot was far back, left him until after Thanksgiving dinner next day. Picked up blood trail which pretty quickly dried up. A friend and I gridded off my woods with no luck. Fortunately the blood trail dried up right in front of a trail cam set on video, after reviewing later that night I got a general travel direction. Friday about 11am I walked a neighboring patch, heading back thinking I'll never find him one last look over my shoulder... bingo! Thanks to cold weather and no coyotes the meat was all salvaged, processed him this morning. He's just a cool 6pt, 20" spread.
I've had a very blessed fall with an elk, mule deer and a whitetail.
No clue how to rotate pic...
