I can't say who it is, but there was one more HT'er who drew a tag. I won't even say what tag it is. You know who you are...congrats dude!

The mystery man is a lucky dude...and gay...which will come in handy when he and his guide are sharing one sleeping bag.

The mystery man won't be sharing a sleeping bag with anybody if he doesn't get his fat ass in shape......

Congrats guys! I'm pretty ignorant about the Alaska system. I imagined most Alaska hunts you have to hire a guide for and the tag fee would be included with the price. Is that right? Are you guys drawing for DIY hunts? Is it a point based system and if so, how many points did it take?

Congrats!! A white sheep hunt is definitely on my, "Would love to do before I die" list! Good luck!

Spitz

I am lucky enough to be a resident. So this is strictly a DIY for me.

Congrats!! Looks like the board is flooding Alaska this year.

Thanks for the congrats, everyone. I'm just a little bit excited. As I told Ovis, my wife is already getting tired of me busting out laughing at random moments.

Spitz, non-residents have to hire a guide to hunt sheep, unless they have an AK resident relative to hunt with. Some sheep areas are open (no draw), but guides are generally booked at least 3 years in advance for those hunts. Other areas are draw only and you book the hunt after you draw. Tags in AK are cheap....guides are not.

T-bone, I'm going with Todd Walton (AK Big Game Safaris). Todd guided many years for Dan Montgomery (AK Trophy Adventures) before going out on his own recently. Dan and Todd still work together, for each other. I won't be combining the hunt with anything else.

Brwnbr, congrats on the tag.

thanks guys, just a matter of making it all work. i'll be guiding till sept 25 and my tag ends on sept 30, so the wifes not gonna be real thrilled, but hopefully i can do the flower deal and take some pain outa all the hunting, right before i turn around and head to kodiak to guide goats and deer...man its rough.
