MONTANA FISH, WILDLIFE & PARKS COMMISSION TO MEET IN HELENA FEB. 12
Montana’s Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission will meet Wednesday, Feb. 12, in Helena at the FWP Headquarters building on 1420 East Sixth Ave., beginning at 8 a.m.
During Wednesday’s session, final decisions will be made on the rule authorizing the addition of deer, elk, antelope and swan to the Bonus Point Program. Other final decisions to be made are on the:
· 2003 deer and elk seasons;
· 2003 game damage permit authorizations;
· 2003 spring turkey season;
· spring turkey and spring black bear quotas;
· annual prairie dog rule;
· renewal of FWP’s lease on the Big Lake WMA and Gravelly-Blacktail WMA with the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation;
· Private Land Fishing Access Program rules.
The FWP Commission will hear early morning informational presentations on the Wolf Plan EIS; the Fishing Access Site review requested by the Commission; and a presentation on PP&L Montana’s petition to close Cochrane, Ryan and Morony reservoirs on the Missouri River near Great Falls to public use.
