What does a guy do if he wins the Colorado Statewide Deer Tag? Early season full velvet , or fourth season rut hunt?

If it were me definitely 4th season. I'd still wack a 2 year old probably but there's no better time to chase mulies.

I would hunt early alpine velvet bucks and then as late as possible.

I fear ever winning one of those tags. I’d use it as an excuse to go check out different country and likely shoot something way smaller than what everyone expected lol

Personally, I'd get a fuzzy one... it'll taste a whole lot better and probably won't wander far, plus you'd have all summer to look for him....and it's way nicer camping.

Id probably scout the unit for 30 days total, shoot at a nice 4 point buck in early November, completely miss and then ask @Wyhunter to bail me out again but end up shooting a forkie.

Hunt all season, pass up many beautiful big bucks, and then end up shooting a forkie on the last day so my wife can't say I wasted all that time...that's what I would do, probably.
