meanwhile my buddy is sitting on 16 deer points and has never hunted mule deer in his life.

edit: scratch that, he tagged along with me on a second choice hunt two years ago for his first mule deer hunt, he chose to pass on the buck so i shot the dinker and we went home.

I punched every tag the first 20 years, then became more selective. I think I've only killed 5 since then.

Got my deer (2nd choice + point to add). It's 56%ish odds which I've been able to work in my favor the last few years and build some points. Goes well with my Elk tag plan which is the primary reason I'll be in that unit at that time. Official email just came through (for deer).
