Here is what I use on my 50 mile boat trip into/out of camp with no windshield.
Shell mittens made from material from an old pair of breathable waders.
After seam-sealing, I filled each mitten with a quart of water to make sure they are 100 percent waterproof.
Quick drying...just turn inside out and hang overnight in camp, or in sleeping bag.
On cold days boating, I wear 2 pair of polarfleece mittens underneath, while hunting a liner glove on my trigger hand.
Easy to slip off, yet cuts the wind while glassing.
