Looks like its been fairly mild so far, anyone with info from 2nd rifle on movement. I know the first response will be "expect crowds", but used to hunting and using the crowds to my advantage back here in WI.( not that I like it )
Big difference is we can't see the crowds once we're in the woods.

Not 71, but sw co - had some bucks halfheartedly locking horns a couple weeks ago at the house a little under 8000', but they've gotten scarce since start of second rifle. Could really use some weather...

Thanks for the reply, also hoping for weather, not to be picky but want it after the drive out. Just OTC here but good luck on the deer.

Oops, have deer on the brain, somehow failed to notice this was in the elk forum... Either way, need some weather! Good luck.

There is snow down below tree line on north facing aspects. Anything getting sun is pretty thin. I live at 9800 in unit 70 and the elk are still here. Friend deer hunting saw some elk at around 7000.

Thanks, input is appreciated. Heading out Tues. Will be somewhere between 8500 & 9500,
Wish everyone a safe & successful hunt.
