Christensen Arms, what's the verdict?

I get that some have had issues with their CA's, but the part I don't get is the pricing comments of 'way less' and paying 1/3 the price of a CA rifle for a custom? I'm not saying that it can't be done with great deals or having some parts/pieces, but I paid under $1k for my NIB Mesa, does this mean that you can build a custom for $300? Or a that Browning X Bolt is $500-$600, which are around $1k just like the CA Mesa? My Mesa and Ridgeline both shoot very well with no issues. In comparison to the Browning (or others) I do wish they had a 60* bolt and the 'break in' recommendations were a bit of a PIA, but did give me the time necessary to get acquainted with the guns. The weight and balance are spot on for me. My initial CA purchase was a Ridgeline in 7mm mag, and it came down to it and a Seekins. I handled both in the gunshop and felt the Ridgeline fit and felt much better. Maybe it was a mistake, but to this point I'm happy with the CA's. The new Seekins are going to be on the radar for sure though.
I would be happy with CA too if it shot. CA has it and agrees that it does not shoot. But now heading into the ninth and no end in sight. Their customer service people are pleasant but literally no nothing about status. I wish I had bought the Seekins or really anything else. I will say it’s my own fault because I was aware that many folks had issues and I bought it anyway thinking it was not gonna happen to me. Silly me

Maybe this thread has run its course but I’ll contribute.

My Mesa FFT 6.5PRC went back twice. First time it wouldn’t cycle ammo. Polished bolt, reamed chamber etc and rifle cycles “tight” and shoots lights out.

2nd time was for a sling stud screw that was likely cross threaded at factory. It wouldn’t unscrew so the whole rifle went back (I wanted to send just the stock). It came back with a new stock with slightly better finish. Remounted scope on pic rail and checked zero yesterday.

Shoots better than any rifle I’ve ever had. Sending it in does suck. Action has improved as well. YMMV

Figured I'd add my review to the pile. Bought a 300 win mag Christensen arms mesa this January at our Scheels in Tulsa. I was aware of this thread and other complaints floating around on the internet. But hell you can find complaints and trash talk about any brand or well anything on the internet so I took it all with plenty of salt. The only person I personally know who has one (a Ridgeline) loves it and had no complaints. Anyway I shouldered one over a year before I bought it and loved the feel. After checking out other rifles including browning, Tikka, bergara, Seekins, and others I decided to go with the Christensen it felt right and fit what I was looking for. Mounted a Swarovski Z5 on it and have fired exactly 43 rounds through it so far and I really like it. The accuracy is as good or better than advertised, the action definitely leans more towards tight then loose (Ok kids get your mind out the gutter) but in a good way and have only had one round that was slightly "sticky" or difficult to seat and that was during the first 5 rounds. I'll add one more thing I was particularly worried about the reports I've heard of Nosler ammo not working well in them as that's usually what I use. Of the 43 rounds 34 where Nosler 200gr Accubonds and besides the one issue above I had no feeding issues.20250325_094901.jpg20250325_095220.jpg
The first five shots while adjusting the scope. The sticker above the 8 was #1 then adjusted second sticker below the 9 is shot #2 next to it #3 adjusted down again and shot #4 and #5.

How are you liking that Z5? Everything us fan boys talked it up to be?
