my brother in law caught this little guppy in the river at the farm today. He threw it back so don't know what it weighed but what a beast.

that is the biggest gaspergou I have ever seen, we get black drum that get big like that in saltwater, but not fresh water drum(gaspergou), that thing is a beast

No, he released her back.

I never seen on this big. This river is only about 15 yards wide.

definitely cousins huh? That's awesome.

I may be wrong but don't they primarily feed on shell fish? I know we have a lot of crawdads(crayfish) and muscles in the river.

I caught one as a kid fishing from the bank of the Missouri River. Thought was a sucker/carp trash fish but it kept making a beatbox/snare drum sound. Let it go. Later my uncle said was a drum. Makes sense.

I got a whole container of what I called ( rocks) that I kept out of drum when I was a dock boy during the summer. Never did do anything with them if anybody has any interest in them. None came from fish that big though. I bet that thing put up a good fight.

Nice! Bet that was a fun fight. I've killed a few over the years while bow fishing Sugar Creek, none that big though.
