Funny thing. Once you decide it's gonna be a cappella, you own the time and the pitch. It's actually easier, especially if you have practiced a piece a little. You don't have to count or listen to accompaniment queues.Such composure to stand there while the tech folk are having a meltdown and failure, and then "take the wheel" and decide to sing without any accompaniment was impressive to me. I was listening live but not watching the video feed, so I thought she was just super slow to get to the microphone, and had no idea that it wasn't supposed to be acapella.
