Can we talk about Caribou game bags?

Love mine, just got another set in blaze orange. Easy to clean and very durable, just don't hold up too well against a determined pine marten, but that was my cow elk and my partner's game bags, so all's good:)
Use to use the canvas bags, still have them, but not what you want to carry for very far.

I just picked up a second set for a hunt I'm en route to that may yield 2 deer and 2 elk 🤘 first set has no less than 12 critters worth of use!

Why do people buy reusable game bags?
What is the alternative? The cotton condom type that roll over the quarters? If so, there is no comparison in my experience. These things aren’t magic or anything. A solid set of pillow cases may do the same thing but they don’t stretch, are easy to grab and tug around and stay where you put them.

I have never used anything else hence my question. I bet I have packed out/helped on an easy hundred game animals with the cotton condoms😂

Weight and quality for me. I run Argalis switched from caribou
How do you like them? I looked at them, but didn’t like that they are sized for boned out elk quarters. I always hang meat until the rigor comes out before I cut it off the bone, so I thought the bags wouldn’t work well for me. How’s your experience been?

I won’t go back to caribou. Size seems like it would be tight but they fit. I haul all my stuff out bone in also.the material seems like it would breathe better during archery to help with cooling off

Been very happy with my caribou bags for 10 years or so. I only use the roll on ones for a hides or other thing so don’t care about as much lately.

I’ve been looking at the Forged bags lately as the roll top and buckle closures seems nice. I suck at tying knots to hang bags so that just seems easy to me

I also like the zip up kuiu bags with the handles

I take it with your post this morning it's a dead zone there to....

I made my own. I suspect it is the same material as the caribou bags. Breathable, ripstop nylon. Only four bone in deer hauled out so far, but absolutely bomb proof. I made them large, so it can handle elk. Much lighter than the old cotton ones. Four of mine are about the weight of one cotton bag. Handles blood brilliantly. Throw it in the sink and throw water on it and it's good to go. Cost me 20 bucks in material.

I’ve had no issues with my caribou bags over the years. I lay them out as flat as I can and vacuum seal them before (hopefully) using them. Makes a nice flat package that butts against the inside wall of my pack right against the frame.
I do the same and add a piece of tyvec and a set of dish washing rubber gloves and a few blades in before I vaccum it down
