I have a Browning Safari auto in 338 mag. The aluminum alloy receiver shows wear and need reblued. What can I use to reblue the receiver? Nothing I have tried seems to take.

Birchwood Casey makes aluminum black which works ok. Wheeler engineering makes a creams coat spray on that will work. But your best bet is to have it anodized. Either way, you'll probably need to have it bead blasted and really clean to get a consistant coat.

I have tried several attemps and the best for what ever reason was a mix of Aluminum Black and G96 waxy blue. Turned out a nice deep blue.
Thanks for the replies.
