Gastro Gnome - Eat Better Wherever

Boom sticks are cool...but show off your bow!

She considers herself a longbow. I didn’t think it was socially correct to tell her otherwise. I did tell her that we probably won’t go out during the archery only season. She didn’t put up much of a fuss after I pointed out that it was much more of a challenge to use a longbow during the firearm season than it was during the archery only season. When she sees her photo in this bow thread, she will be as thrilled as that lady on the beer can.

Absolutely hilarious! 🤣

Here's the new veneers on my next personal recurve... redwood burl. Should be done in the next couple weeks. Trying to fit it in between customers bows.

Birdseye maple riser.. still deciding on inlay for a footed riser.
Love to see that one when its done.

Picture of the APA Mamba M7 that I recently purchased used.

Former owner cut the heck out of the Ripcord drop away rest. Made it totally useless to me.

Had to drop the draw weight down.

When we cut the D loop off, we found the string frayed.
So it's at the shop getting restrung.
With bow season starting in 3 weeks, I'll just set it up for next year instead of rushing.

View attachment 339785This guy was my entry back into tradbows 30 years ago. I felt like it was old then, ‘73-‘75 manufactured I think. Since then I’ve found a 40# to match this 50# one.
Back in the 70s I had a good friend that wanted to get into bow hunting but couldn't afford a bow. I told him about a local department store that had one bow in stock exactly like that one and it had been marked down in price about ten times, because no one was buying recurves. Everyone wanted one of those newfangled compounds. He bought it and we had a lot of epic hunts together.

Brings back some great memories.
