Oh that’s nice!I picked this up today.
@grizzly63, it only cost a rifle and a pistol I traded, plus a check for the about the amount of my first nice bow.

is that on a golf course ?An unhealed elbow injury ended my recurve shooting days. I made the switch to a modern crossbow and never looked back.

Absolutely hilarious! She considers herself a longbow. I didn’t think it was socially correct to tell her otherwise. I did tell her that we probably won’t go out during the archery only season. She didn’t put up much of a fuss after I pointed out that it was much more of a challenge to use a longbow during the firearm season than it was during the archery only season. When she sees her photo in this bow thread, she will be as thrilled as that lady on the beer can.

Nice, forgiving, smooth shooter but got a super sexy one on order…will have pics of her when she’s done….tentatively Aug
Love to see that one when its done. Here's the new veneers on my next personal recurve... redwood burl. Should be done in the next couple weeks. Trying to fit it in between customers bows.
Birdseye maple riser.. still deciding on inlay for a footed riser.
It would look better bloody and 80 pounds heavier. We’re getting close:View attachment 339042
Back in the 70s I had a good friend that wanted to get into bow hunting but couldn't afford a bow. I told him about a local department store that had one bow in stock exactly like that one and it had been marked down in price about ten times, because no one was buying recurves. Everyone wanted one of those newfangled compounds. He bought it and we had a lot of epic hunts together.View attachment 339785This guy was my entry back into tradbows 30 years ago. I felt like it was old then, ‘73-‘75 manufactured I think. Since then I’ve found a 40# to match this 50# one.
Was going thru some stuff in my sisters basement and found the box the bow was shipped in.You guys and your new stuff. Original Allen bow that my dad bought new in 1968. He hunted with it until he died in 1997.
