I love living where I do now and getting after prairie grouse out in the big wide open, but man I miss living in Colorado where you can come around a bend and see a blue or two on the trail. Really gets the blood pumping. Also, prairie grouse are good eating, but blues are exponentially better.

Just spoke with one of my coworkers who’s from North Central Montana. He was at a family reunion and spoke to a few ranchers whose properties extend from North Central to Eastern Montana. Apparently the winter was extremely rough in those particular areas and most are speculating that a majority of birds perished from winter kill. Pretty disheartening..

I am pleased to report that unlike last year, it is not super crazy difficult to find some quail to shoot in Southern Nevada this year.

Just got back from MT, lots if birds this year. In a couple of weeks heading to Nebraska.
