Bighorn sheep tag goes for $90,000

Kind of an intersting issue, and maybe I will snoop around for another version of the story. If I hear one, I will add the rumours...

But it brings up an interesting issue on Outfitters, and their claims to the game, still on the hoof. I think some Outfitters begin to mix up the right to Outfit with Owning a region of Public property, and the game therein.

I know I have became disgusted enough with one outfitter, that I have walked through his camp, in fresh Snow, while they were sleeping, just to leave the footprints of my Schnee's in the Snow. I wanted to make sure when he and his clients rolled out of their bedrolls, they knew they were too late, and there were already guns on the trail ahead of them.

That is a good paired down rendition that gets to the point Steve...
That's funny Elkgunner...LOL...

I guess where I am lost is what laws were broken? Or is this just an issue of ethics? I can see someone being pissed about getting a ram spooked off, I've had it happen to me back home (deer though). But, unless a law was broken I don't see the problem, other than some guy being pissed.

MD4ME,

Ithacas a control freak? I would have never guessed! What's IT's real name? I need to do a little research.

Nut, Dan, Pointer,

If you guys were hunting on public land and some anti hunter purposely wreaked your hunt, would you be at least a little hot? I don't know how things are done in your parts, but around here if you tried this crap, you'ld be Toby Keithed. You'ld get a boot in your ass!

Paul

I didn't say I wouldn't be made, I would be pissed. I guess I'm not seeing where the controversy is?

I know that in some states if a person (anti-hunter) purposefully interferes with a hunter's hunt it is against the law. Was this the argument used?

1P=== from what I understand, second-third- hand stuff here..... Tag A had his guides watching for this huge ram while Tag B 'guides', who claimed to be birdhunting and claimed to have never seen any rams, ambled thru the known area of the ram spooking it.
A says B did it deliberately b/c B couldn't hunt until a week after A.... prior engagements.

Big HffnPuff is B "guides' claim to have never seen any rams, and not even work for B, nor even know anything about B.
\
I my mind, nothing illegal happened, but sure the hell wasn't very sportsmenlike....all b/c of auction tags, big money, and egos.
gives the whole hunting a blackeye.

Paul and LA, Neither one of you knows anything about what really happened and are spreading malicious lies. I've given Paul every opportunity to find out the truth and he continues to lie about it. There's not much I can do with people like that, so I'm not wasting time with them. All they're doing is spreading rumors and stirring up trouble and giving MD4M her chances to jump in with her usual cheap shot lies, too. She's already admitted to being a liar, so anybody who listens to her must not care about credibility.

LA, if you want to know the truth all ya gotta do is email me. The same offer is extended to you that I made to Paul. I'll tell you what really happened and give you others to call, too, who know the truth. Anyone else who's interested in the truth can email me, too, and we'll set a time to talk on the phone.

Anyone else who doesn't want to know the truth can just keep on with all this idiotic BS.

You'd all be a lot better off not speculating about something you have no knowledge of.

The way it's told, I get the idea we're arguing about 2 different hunts. Thanks for the story(s) though. I think we should here from the real people involved. Somebody invite them over.

I do have my personal standards and ethics, even when I am doing something unscrupulous.

IT=== I'm only repeating what is understood to be the story, and I beleive I made that fact clear. If you wish to post the story as you know it, here's your chance.
There is many different sides to this story, the only bad part is it gets everyone against everyone else over nothing, and the public just a little more disgusted with the whole idea of hunting.

Ithaca,

I thought you already told us how the story goes. You have a new and improved version to run by us?

I can understand why you won't answer any of my questions. Your nose is already dragging on the ground. Blow off my questions if you want. Just makes you look bad to everyone else. Heres a couple of new questions if the last batch were too tough for you.

Are your friends competent sheep hunters? Most sheep hunter's scouting for sheep, find a vantage point, get out a spotting scope, and start glassing. When a suitable ram is spotted, they plan a stalk, and then try to execute it. Not too many competent sheep hunters walk right into the sheep while scouting and scare them off into the next state.

Speaking of being competent. Would you say that a guide that allowed his hunter to shoot a ram in an unretreiveable location to be competent?

Paul, would you say it's anyones fault if a fatally wounded ram falls off a cliff and lands in a place that takes rappeling equipment to get to him? Do you know where they went to get the equipment needed to rappel to the sheep? You have no idea what happened and your rumor based assumptions are just a waste of my time. I gave you the opportunity to find out the truth.

Does your buddy know it is illegal to intentionally interfere with the lawfull taking of wildlife in Idaho? Seems like he'd have a good case if what you're saying is true. It isn't and that's why he didn't have a case.

Tell us some more about the bird hunters without any shotguns or bird dogs.
biggrin.gif
Did your buddy tell you the sheep were doing fine until he started whistling and waving his arms? That's when they started wandering off. Did he tell you about the conversation back in camp when the two "bird hunters" stopped to talk? You have no idea of what happened and aren't interested in learning the truth.

Best thing for you to do is drop this and talk to everyone involved at the FNAWS convention next year. Or email me. My offer to straighten out all your misinformation still stands. I won't be answering any questions here that are based on false info. It's just a waste of time.

Wholy Chit Man. That all sounds like a total abortion. Hey maybe you two could come down to Moosies and this would be the main event ?

I feel that they were on Public land and if the Ram hunters or the bird hunters or the guys hunting for the easter bunny scared the Rams well thats too F'n bad. Ya I would be upset but its PUBLIC LAND.

And yes when these damn animal rights activists scare off game........ Call the sherrif. But if both parties are hunting, no matter what the are hunting, thats just too bad !!!!
