Big Ones (photos)

Aug. 22, 2001 CO bighorn sheep. Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Mentally and physically my toughest hunt. First backpack hunt so that probably has a lot to do with it. Just out of college and broke as ever. Mountain House was way out of the budget so I ate Ramen and granola bars the entire hunt. After 17 days of climbing mountains higher that giraffe lips I sent an arrow through this ram at 20 yards. 8 ½ year old ram.

Sept. 07 WY bull. I hate to give Dink a big head but the way he called this bull in was unreal. It was like he opened the door to the Hostess factory with Rosie O’Donnel l in the parking lot. 25 yard shot, He ran about 30 yards then fell over.

Nov. 3, 1996 CO muley. 191 and change gross. Years earlier the DOW had netted the deer and put an ear tag in him. Aged him at 6 or 7.

Late Nov. 1999. The clutch on my truck was slipping pretty bad so I did what anyone with a Iowa deer tag would do. Went down to Napa bought a rebuild kit threw it behind the seat and drove from CO to IA. I have some stupid good luck with whitetail and killed this buck the first morning out. Spent the next two days in Dink’s driveway pulling the transmission out and replaced the clutch. Still remember Dink bought me Thanksgiving dinner at the gas station. Did I mention I lost my keys packing that deer out? Had a locksmith open the door then I hot wired the truck. It was the ultimate redneck Thanksgiving.

Best decision I ever made in my life was moving to AK. Brooks Range ram. Aug. 13, 2008 35 ½ by 12 ½. 9 ½ year old ram. Can’t believe I don’t have a pic of a mountain goat or moose. They are #1 and 2 on my hit list.

Biggest set of elk sheds, April 2007. Just about passed out when I found them.

Mercy sakes, there are some serious animals showing up. Antlerless shows up making us wonder where those pics have been until now. That black bear looks like his noggin is from mutant land.

Colorado, shot with a 300wsm at 380 yards.

Thanks anterless now Your brother is really going to get a big head:D I love the dall sheep and the kinda steep hillside;) The bear looks like a giant black slug:eek: A definite candidate for the Biggest Loser show. Nice animals for sure. You need to post more. Sometimes your brother gets the family name in trouble.

Schmalts the moon boots are classic! Were you wearing toughskins brand pants as well?

The fisting pictures are cool and everything, but I should have said this was about big game, which doesn't include frogs, gophers, cattle, suckerfish, or flying livers. Schmalts, can't you read? Your biggest one, one per species. Cheeseheads..

Awesome photos so far.
