Duck & Goose Hunting!! that is what the week between Christmas and New Years is all about on these parts of the coast...Yes lots of things are possible, and you kinda need to watch out for the drinkers on your way to the blind early new years day!

Last year it was an inland duck hunt that turned into a goose hunt and then a coastal duck hunt. This year it’s been eat, sleep, work but yes it is a weird and confusing week.

Burned a day of vacation today and took the dog out in the knee deep snow for 2 hrs and ended up with............1 ruffed grouse on public land! Score. More snow coming and probably done for the year. Dog spent half the time trying to walk in my tracks.

My dog gets the hint after a couple subtle boot heels to the face. Haha

Many lards and honks have perished, I should probably go to church, my liver hates me and it will probably take till summer to burn off the pounds from holiday meals.. 4 more days , 4 more grinds, 2000 bird corn field in the morning. New Year’s Day central flyaway 10-15 man smack down.. lord give me strength..
