And we’re worried about the turtles…
I had a rifle permit in the Missouri Breaks in 2008. It had dumped snow the week leading up to the opener and it had the elk bunched up in big herds. The day before the season opened we were watching a herd of about 200 head with one or two shooters. All of a sudden the elk started to get on high alert and the next thing you know the herd was hauling ass. We looked up on the ridge above them and there was a lone raghorn with what looked to be the outside of a bag style archery target draped over his antlers. He was trying to get in with the herd and we watched them go for two miles without showing any signs of slowing down. A couple days later we found another big herd and the same thing happened.
