Beautiful Places in the Western US You’ve Hunted

The Grand Mesa.
As a kid in the '50s and '60s, every other summer my Grandfather and Grandmother would take me fishing up on Grand Mesa. We'd drive over from Denver and each trip he would drive by the ranch in Cedaredge where he worked when he was a young man, then we would go up to Island Lake Lodge and stay a week in the same cabin that they spent their honeymoon in. My Grandmother would stay in and clean the cabin, and my Grandfather and I would go out in a row boat on Island Lake and catch a mess of trout for dinner.

On each trip we would take a day and walk in to Butts Lake and unsuccessfully try to catch the monster trout that were always there cruising the shoreline. Great childhood memories...

I have been told, in a rather rude manner, that two of my choices are not in the western U.S. and one is not a hunting trip. Sorry about that.

Grand Mesa and White Mtn's are apparently acceptable.

But, if the opportunity arises I still recommend spending time in the Brooks Range and Mackenzie Mtns. And the Grand Canyon is not chopped liver

All the best to everyone on this Glorious Easter Sunday. I wish I was with Guy in the Brooks Range----right now! That was such a great trip for you Guy, and a successful hunting trip as well.

Ive been blown away every time I get out west at the shear beauty of the mountains
and it allways reminds me that GOD is one heck of an artist
It's not just out west. Ever go to the Great Smokys, Shenandoah Valley, or West Virginia? Theres beauty all across this continent
