I've made a decision that I don't want to hunt for elk and muley's anymore. I'm putting all my focus on bear hunting.

Our rifle bear season is Sept 2-30 which is way better than the 9 days of elk and deer season. I'll be hunting the rifle season but still using my muzzleloader. It's the most challenging hunt I can do and I like that. Harder is more fun.

Well, good going Colorado. They keep messing with bear tags. As is I can't always get a bear tag every year with no points for the area I want to hunt.

Now my units are CWD units and deer kills have to get the head inspected. Mandatory now. I'm not going through that for multiple reasons.

The easiest tag I can get and get it every year with no points is elk. I'm too old to skip a year of hunting because I can't get a tag. I'll be hunting for just elk from now on. Luckily, I love the meat the best of all game.

I can't give up bear hunting. Let's say bear and elk this year. I have 1 bear point, so I can get a tag this year for sure.
