In my heyday I was 7% body fat...5'11-170lb. Carried out a rear quarter, front quarter, and full bull elk green hide....4 miles, down 3k.
35 years later, the toll is evident, an inch shorter and 176lb. Muscle mass decreases. THAT is the reality.

I think most should beware for drop packs from non hunter oriented pack out fits. Iv seen this more than once and have personally had to walk a horse more than ride it… part of that was my preference though.

My preference too. Trouble was I ended up dragging the horse along haha

Those horses have been doing the same 3-4 mile trail ride all summer and just have to much quit in them after a few hours

Dude, i really thought Prior Creek and Chicken Coop were just “said spots”…. Ya know, like “no tell-um creek”. Haha well now.

To the OP, i hope you take this all with a grain of salt man. Everyone here loves the engagement. Especially with the off season. I do feel for you and wish you nothing but the best in regards to your health and well being. I wrecked on my mule Nov 24th of 2023 (in my driveway) she threw me onto the loader arm of my tractor…and I scored 9 fractured ribs, 2 lower lumbar fractures, and 2 bulged discs.. God laid his hand on me, and I am forever grateful. Just know you have a good “Cowboy Story” as my buddies say. We all grasp the gist of your post, so know that.. wish you guys would have hammered a 6 point.

And if anyone can muster up a pic of a dead bull from “Chicken Coop” that would be fire!
