Those are cool birds aren't they. A friend of mine is trying to get a pair do every species mounted in his trophy room. Last year I spotted a pair on the creek so I shot them for him. That was one of the last couple he needed. Congrats.

I've been picking up a golden eye or two each time I go out. I actually throw out 8 golden eye decoys and they seem to help. The skin on the breast is very difficult to separate from the muscle, so I leave it on and deep fat fry the breast fillets rare to medium rare. They are delicious.

Gorgeous bird! I shot a hen all the way down here in NE Alabma three seasons ago, but I've never even seen a drake while in the blind. Congratulations!
