Here in Australia our duck season starts on a Wednesday which are ruled out for me with work but Saturday it was on. Rang my local farmer and teed up a few of the boys for some dam and river jumping.
A lazy 8am start and the first few dams surprisingly held nothing. Then slowly started picking up small mobs with us knocking down 1's and 2's each time and we did a loop around the farm twice for just shy of everyone's bag limit (4 each). All over by 11 and a cold beer afterward.
The Perazzi mx2003 wasn't my first choice but only gun I had as I sold my sporter and haven't collected another to replace it so took it extra gentle on her
. Steel shot no4 Remington nitro steel works a treat. My lab Hugo did very well after not getting out at all last year due to covid lockdowns. With a couple of large retrieves in the river and made life much easier and drier pulling every bird from the water.
Good times with good mates.
Turned them into jerky and came out really nice.
