Ollin Magnetic Digiscoping System

Attention Idaho speak now!

Elkmagnet I thought about trying to meet up with some of the Hunt Talk crew after, but had to hustle back to work...Glad you were there! Between this and auction tags it seems like the hits just keep coming this year...

Ilana Rubel and Michelle Stennett both presented pretty good questions.

Linden Bateman was the idiot who couldn't seem to figure out why so many of his constituents were against a transfer and asked how to educate his constituents against against the big bad federal government.

Andrus said he would change the Constitution so none of the transfered land could be sold and used some very creative math to explain that every acre of federal land could produce the same economically as every acre of current state land making the state billions.

Raybould said he would be happy to pay the federal government for all the land at the same rate the government bought it for.

Erpelding was pretty much the only male voice that oposingly questioned the Utah crew.

In short no Republicans questioned against the transfer and 3 Democrats did.

.

I saw he is retiring after this year, so that should be a good thing. That said he represents east Idaho where people tend think alike.

I'd like to call it blind optimism but they know dam well this is all a stretch intended to sell the idea.
Once it's done and the budget deficit gets out of hand they will have the ammo they need to convince people we need to sell to fund schools. "Oh think of the children" they will cry.
A few dark deals and the plain is complete.

"There are no plans to reconsider the issue again this year."

... and a few days later HB0582 appears:

58 - 1501. LEGISLATIVE INTENT. The transfer of certain federally held 13 public lands to the state of Idaho would fulfill the promise made in the U.S. constitution, the Idaho constitution, the Idaho admissions act and congres - sional acts under the equal footing doctrine. The equal footing doctrine requires that any new state enter the union with all the same rights as the original thirteen states.
