Stay safe,

Got a brother over there right now, his fourth tour but his first three were to Iraq. He is maintenance CWO2 in a infantry Battalion.

Much appreciation for your service.

Thoughts and prayers for your, and everyone else's safe return.

Would love to see some pictures of the landscape if possible.

Thank you for your service. May the Lord bless your efforts and keep you safe.

Thanks gang. All the support means a great deal. I landed in Shin Dand this morning about 3:30am and will get to my final destination in a few days (can't be specific). Once I do, I will see what my living conditions will be like. So far, they have been better than any of the tours so far. I have always lived in tents on crappy little places. This time, I have slept in an actual building every night. We'll see.

SFC B, I struck out again this year on the ELK hunt. In the four days I had, it was hot, rainy and nothing was moving. I put the miles in but couldn't locate them. The day I had to leave a cold front came in and the weather cleared up. Them's the breaks.

Ross, I will be near Herat city and will have to see if I can get down there some time. In 2002, I brought back 8 authentic, antique guns and did well with them. One of them was an 1873 .60 Russian Kurnka. It was super rare and sold it to a collector for a nice AR-15 and $800.00. Not bad.

Big Finn, I can't think of a better way to kill dead time than to watch a season or two of my favorite hunting show. Thanks for the offer and I will PM you my address once I get to a permanent spot.

I'll try to get pictures and keep everyone posted as I go. Good luck to everyone currently enjoying their "Own Adventure/ Fresh Tracks. Happy Hunting!
