So here I am for the fourth time in this lovely country. Thousands of miles of sand........but no ocean.:D This tour, I will be running a two man EOD (Bomb Squad) team embedded with an SF team in the far Western part of Afghanistan (Harat providence). That is the only region of Afghanistan that I have not been to so far.

The South and West are the areas that the insurgents go for winter and we plan on taking the fight into their livingroom. I'm not sure how often I will be able to get on here and contribute to the group but I will try and post some pics and comments when I can. Besides, I need to be able to track what sweet prize I'm gonna get from the awesome sponsors on here. :p

Yet another hunting season where I have another type of animal to hunt. Happy Hunting to all!:hump:

Ray, how did archery go? I am getting ready to head out TUE and if I can tag out we will have a monster cook out when you get back. Stay safe and have agood time with the "crew"!

Our prayers and gratitude are with you and your fellow soldiers. Thanks for your service. Let me know if any OYOA DVDs would help pass some time for your company and Mrs. Fin will have them in mail.

Ray,

I am not sure what security is like out west these days, so this is probably a long shot, but If you make it up to Herat City, you need to check out Alexander's Citadel, the Blue Mosque, and the Old Herat Rug Bazaar. You can find some pretty good deals there, on way better stuff than you can get near the big bases. I have a suspician that if my wife heard I could go back and be stationed near Herat again, she might make me go ;-). She got pretty spoiled in the rug department last time.

Shoot me a PM if you want I know that area pretty well. (weird, it almost sounds like I am talking about a hunting spot)

Good luck, and god speed!

Ross

Stay alert, be safe, return home as soon as possible in a healthy state of mind and body.

I will think of you and wish you were here with every hunting day.

Ray,
Thank you for your service and dedication. You are truly one of our county's best and a hero to me. I will say a prayer daily for you to return safe and whole. From one combat vet to another:
Shoot straight and shoot to kill !!
God be with you.
