As if I wasn't ready to leave CO already.........the hits just keep on coming.

Do the registration and training requirements only apply to ARs?

The safety training requirement only applies to semi-auto, gas-operated, removable magazine, so essentially just semi-auto and AR-type rifles, AR-type pistols, and a couple random handguns that are actually gas-operated and not recoil-operated. It's just a thinly veiled assault rifle ban, with this ridiculous safety requirement being the attempt at "compromise". I honestly don't think this will affect more than a handful of big-game hunters who use those platforms, possibly some small-game or predator hunters, but it is still a badly-written law (as usual). For example, I heard the other day than all the Mini-14 iterations will fall under the rule except for the Mini-14 Ranch version, there's just too much gray area.

So it’s another one a those epoxy the magazine into mag well, remove mag release and make legal AR15? I tell ya, it can’t be long now before PSA or one of them retools and fabricates new retro fixed-mag SKS and M1 Garands. People in both the right and left coasts would return that investment quick.

There have also been rumors swirling that Polis may have his sights set on a White House run. If that happens it will be imperitive that we remember this and other action such as his support for prop 127. On another note I am very curious how this law affects visiting hunters. Do the registration and training requirements only apply to ARs?
They apply, basically, to NEWLY purchased/sold AR's, AR pistols and some AR style shotguns. Should not affect visiting hunters (just like IL can't make visitors have FOID cards).

Horrible laws, passed by horrible people who only seek power & control over others.
What is worse, taxation with no representation or the illusion of representation resulting in same outcomes?
The politicians refuse to recognize that they work for the people, not the other way around.
The tipping point is coming......

important to remember that on gun control, most people who use this forum are in the minority belief on not restricting gun ownership in some form.

Being in the "Minority" does not diminish the Fact that our 2A Rights are constantly infringed upon with constant schemes being designed to render it useless.

"Those that would give up freedoms/rights for security deserve neither"

This should be required reading in our schools, colleges & universities if this country is to survive, otherwise we don't have a country.

That said, America has a (spiritual) Heart Problem, not a Gun problem.
The Democrats have no answer to address this problem, so they go after the low hanging fruit & they
will continue to do so until someone stops them.

You know you’re getting screwed when the state puts the Department of Revenue in charge of licensing gun dealers.

“Our Mission

The Firearms Dealer Division's Mission is to promote public safety and responsible firearm commerce by ensuring compliance with state laws, fostering education and accountability among firearms dealers, and safeguarding the integrity of firearm transactions. Through collaboration, transparency, and the implementation of effective regulatory measures, the division is committed to supporting a safe and secure Colorado for all residents.”

Don’t worry citizens, the department of revenue is here to make you safer.

Very bad bill! Colorado has lost its mind and seems intent on crushing anything that is logical and for law abiding citizens.

It really is the new California! Sad, very sad. 😔
It is. And it seems that after about 40 yrs, CA may be starting to move the pendulum back toward the center if the last election is any indication. Colorado is still swinging even more left so perhaps in another 40-50 yrs, CO may regain some sense of sanity. Or not ....

He likely still has his sights set on the highest office. Wholeheartedly agree that he has to be held accountable for the PolisGunBan. Just a point of clarification though, Gov Polis did not endorse Prop 127. He also didn’t oppose it. In fact the Colorado Democratic Party chose not to endorse Prop 127. I credit the savvy campaign directors at Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management with ensuring bipartisan opposition to Prop 127. One of many smart strategic moves by CRWM.
If it was anything like this latest gun control bill, Polis was deeply involved behind the scenes. He was pulling the strings on the gun bill language.

I don’t disagree with your point but I think the Colorado General Assembly has far surpassed the “common sense” gun control measures that the majority supports. Politicians (both parties) have a real knack for over-correcting and exceeding their “mandate” from their voters. We will see if that is the case. I believe this occurs when state-level politicians become completely beholden to activist organizations (Everytown for Bloomberg, Giffords, etc) and a single party holds complete and unchecked power.

The question comes down to “how do you eliminate something you don’t like?” Colorado Dems, under the influence of anti-gun activists, want to eliminate firearms and firearms ownership. But they can’t just ban firearms sales and confiscate current firearms. The Governor has pushed back some and it would violate the Constitution. So they have chosen a strategy of slow strangulation through increased regulation and taxation to the point where supply and demand is eliminated. It will no longer be favorable or economically feasible for the consumer or the vendor.
