Are butter-smooth actions overrated?

There is a Krag at the 13:30 mark and numerous places through out if you are interested enough to watch it all. These guys know how to throw a match and shoot.


My understanding of that discipline is they were limited to a strict few former service rifles to keep it from becoming an expensive rifle race. Krags and k98s were primary candidates. They made the sauer 200 the one modern rifle to standardize that offering too likely because the aging original options might be becoming less available/economical to use for competition? Wonder what sauer had to do to get that deal?

I'll try to get a pic today. Fun as Hell to shoot. My Grandfather even saved the brass. All I need is dies. mtmuley
I forgot to mention, I use Lee dies for mine. I would almost say they are better than other brands, though often looked down upon. You can probably buy them from Lee on line. Yup, they are even in stock. Get the full set with the factory crimp die. Cannot beat their factory crimp die.
