GG is auditioning for a future political position. Has been for years. Once you attach yourself to the public teat, it is hard to move back to a real job. He is following Biden in that respect.

The S&P was up 23% in that timeframe. It’s a shame nearly half of them underperformed the market. It seems like a reasonable distribution that I’d guess closely matches the general population. I know many people outperformed the market this year with how hot the tech stocks were. Magnificent 7 was up 67% ytd.

That's some funny stuff right there. If you don't find that sniveling response of the legislators to be funny, you need to work on your sense of humor.

Toni Tease is my IP attorney. She's professional, smart, and would make the folks on that committee look like fools. I wish I had known Toni was there to be entertained by this committee yesterday; I would have changed my calendar so I could have tuned in to watch.

As for Jim Goetz, I've hired him and his firm on quite a few issues - public trust issues, conflict of interest in wildlife issues, access, corner crossing, and a few other things. Goetz is a legal genius, respected by pretty much every attorney I know, even those whose legal teeth he handed out like chiclets in the court room.

He's argued cases before the USSC and won. The USSC case most cited on this site that he argued and won was Baldwin v. FWP Commission that established that it was in Montana's interest and within Montana's legal right to charge non-residents disproportionate fees for hunting licenses. He warned me in one of our meetings that he thinks that case would be harder to defend today. That case has served as a cornerstone of many wildlife cases in terms of allocation and pricing, and not just as it relates to Montana elk hunting. It reaffirmed a state's propriety over wildlife issues.

From what I gather, Jim's GAF meter blew a bearing a while back. I find it funny that the opinions and comments of a retired attorney who was always known for his wit and humor could be so offensive to some legislators who couldn't carry his paperclips when it comes to the rights of citizens and the Constitution.

This kind of whining, sniveling, and virtue signaling by legislators with hurt feelings pretty much sums up the priorities and talent level in Helena for the next three months.
