Yeah I meant to say how much has he contributed without the expectation of a tag, but yes the raffles do at least support something. As other have said, his social media is really what makes it hateable.

I have no issue with any of this in regards to the hunter and the hunt as long as he is following the law other than I still think tags like that(raffle/auction) are gay or weak T.

In fact the more I hear about the circumstances the happier I am that he immortalized this pet elk that was just likely an annoyance and an opportunity for nonhunter anthropomorphism.

I think where things go wrong for me on this one is the claims of GOAT, the king, the ultimate elk master!! Maybe he is but I don’t think this hunt was the one to demonstrate that while clearly displaying his privilege on a verified town bull. They definitely screwed that up. However hellacious bull and great to see it come out of Washington

I can’t find Washington’s 2024 raffle results (2023: https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/special-hunts/raffles/results), but he’s certainly throwing piles of $$ into Oregon’s.

Here in Oregon over the past 10 years, looks like he’s been very active and successful in winning.

From 2017 through 2020, each year Brooks won the statewide Elk and Deer combo raffle. That’s nuts.

With the eastside elk auction tag going for over $200K, the guy probably realized he could buy 5,000 raffle tickets and have a 50% chance of winning for a fraction of the cost of the auction tag.
