Thanks for sharing, Ben! It was a good read, now I just got to find some ranchers that have a pesky elk problem
In all seriousness though, knocking doors and offering to help with some ranch chores in weekends has gone a LONG way in securing access to some great antelope country and some elk travel corridors.

Interesting article Ben. Didn’t realize you were a writer. Maybe I’ve been living under some rock. My taxidermist and his son in law went on one of these hunts a few years ago. They had some connection with a farmer. I believe he called it a depredation hunt.

My brother in law lives in the panhandle of Oklahoma and he sends me photos of massive elk killed in the middle of the corn fields. Doesn't really strike my fancy to go sit on a pivot tire and pop one, but if it was my hometown your damn right I would be trying to get access.... and a tag!
