Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

And this is why you don’t try to time the market. Holy guacamole.
Just got a call from my Fidelity rep. Holy Sh#t would be my reply! Told him this is making me feel better I turned over management of 2/3s of our retirement funds to them.

Still I wonder if any rollback is due more to cronies who get advance notice can make out like thieves than any permanent review of the negative impacts they have caused.

17 of the 19 positions I purchased after hours or pre hours this morning have already sold at the 130% take profit orders, I don't need this to hang on for much longer! The one is only at 101% and the other is at 118%. What a day. Here I thought Monday and Tuesday were good.
Good for you and I mean that in a high five kinda way

My inner skepticism has also had me wondering who stood to get rich from a little insider knowledge in this. I still want my frosty glass of Bill Ackman tears though.

I moved about 15 percent of our money into a more balanced position yesterday, won't take effect until after close of business today as is the case with retirement plans. A rare win for someone stuck within retirement plan limits and timelines. Again our goals are different than most younger folks--we don't or want as much risk prefer more security and smaller returns are just fine.

Moved some of my 401 balances around Monday. Small loss yesterday but today will kick ass. If it holds. Stuck for a week with my moves but some are still available if needed. I'm just gonna wait and see.

Yes, holy freaking crap!!!! So glad I dropped some serious cash this morning. I'm looking like the smartest guy on the planet right now. Will it hold?
Placed 50% of my cash G, F and I fund into the C fund yesterday to buy the dip.
Playing the market works great for those knowing when to place portions into the market.

Buy the dip, (12% extra money by entering yesterday) or ride through the dip with zero gain/loss.
I'll add more if it dips further.

End result pulling my funds pre dump has given liberty to enter at any time lower than my sell and it's $ added to my retirement.

This thread reminds me of when people go to Vegas. Everyone always wins…😜
They just talk about the wins is all. There are losses.

Here I'll share my pains. Here are my bottom 5 right now all from purchases back in December or January or February that just haven't turned the corner for me to get a profit from those investments.

i'm never sure if people in here are primarily discussing things through the lense of their retirement funds or personal brokerage accounts.

my retirement funds are 100% on autopilot. i log into that like once a quarter at the most just to see what things look like and pat myself on the back for stocking away.

as far as this thread goes, i'm usually talking about what we invest above and beyond our savings and emergency funds. a very small slice of which goes into a more gambling type jar.

i deployed about as much cash as i told myself i was allowed to in the last few days. and i'm not upset i did. but i'm not gonna say i'm "winning" or anything.

There's a reason even last year some people referred to it as "Advanced Money Destroyer"
So much winning.

BHR is going to win that damn bet yet!
And that is why I don't try to time the market. I have sworn, a half a dozen times or more, that AMD is the next hit. And it never is...
So who bought into AMD last night/early this morning at $80/share? Are you selling now at $95 and running? 118% isn't bad for one day!

Absolutely through the view of investment opportunity with zero thought about the retirement 401K (or similar) type funds. Just like you, the market should mean absolutely nothing to you short term on those retirement funds if you have set yourself up with the proper allocation of funds in how those are setup to match where you currently are at in life and what your future goals are.
