Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

Roaring Kitty warming up the short squeeze plays again.
Worth $ if played right... Then again, that may be said of most all stocks. Difference, meme stocks shake the Society of Whigs fear factor of their intended forced shorts.

I don’t think a guy dropping meme videos causes a run like that

Big boy hedge funds cover their losses Then short the stock once again.

Short squeeze FTW - temporarily. People jumping on board along with those covering their shorts bump it and the hype continues.

Or... Time it right and those hedge funds who pressure a company's stock to lose value make $$$ when the hype dwindles and a massively bloated stock fizzles. Time to jump on the short side and milk it for much more than the billion lost.

The fleecing of stocks by big boy investors and REDDIT groupies.

@Flatrock TSLA closed today $168.47. Not to toot my own horn, but yeah. I premised that prediction off ‘23 history, earnings prediction and RSI at the time.

Nice trade Ben.
Nice job tooting your horn but not meaning to toot your horn.

I told you, I had no opinion on Tesla. I was just calling you out that you could make 19k. That was pure bull bullchit. Love it or hate it, Tesla isn't going to zero.

Would you be so bold to short it on the way there? Ain’t no telling when TSLA will drop further especially if this summer pans out like last. I’m too poor right now to play with the big volatility of these meme stocks. I will say though it appears TSLA is following the blueprint of the Hudson Car company.

I don't play that game.

Interesting move by one Hedge Fund.
The anticipated expectation meme stocks would run again, bought 1,000,000 shares pre the recent meme spike.
Now that's a way to cover shorts while anticipating another REDDIT revolution! Haha! Likely flipped the gains to short the inevitable drop.

Smooth move!

Financial media is starting to tap the brakes.

Bill and Warren hoarding cash.

"Besides reducing the size of his stock portfolio by more than four million shares, Gates is reportedly selling two superyachts – the Wayfinder and Project 821. The latter, a 390-foot vessel under construction at Feadship, is listed for sale at 600 million euros ($642 million), while the Wayfinder, a 224-foot catamaran, is also on the market. The reasons behind these sales are not explicitly stated, but speculation suggests that Gates may simply be honoring his commitment to environmental causes and reducing his environmental impact. It's also possible that the sale of these yachts is a financial move aimed at boosting his cash hoard."

For the people shown: this is the part of their day that's after their 11 am avocado toast / Starbucks brunch, yoga and counseling sessions, but before spending 2 hours walking their dog and TikTokking about what they cooked for dinner. Between the hours of 7 and 9 pm they may do some actual work.

No wonder some companies put keystroke and other surveillance software on their WFH employees' devices, or why managers want to have 3 Zoom meetings a day.

Decker's Outdoor. Anyone own this stock? Kind of amazing that a stock with a share price of over $1,000 has a market cap of just $27 billion. Contrast with Nvidia with a similar price, but a market cap of $2.75 trillion. Obvious difference is number of shares.

Anyone recommend it, esp. if it splits?

I'm not a momentum guy, because as soon as I get in the stock drops 20%. I also don't wouldn't buy things with an RSI over 80 after a huge gap up. These consumer names are very cyclical (big economic cycle) and also tend to ebb and flow within that cycle, often getting expensive and cheap within it. DECK seems expensive to me right now at over 35x. Really, how many Uggs can they sell? NKE at 27x seems better if you have the patience (warning: earnings at the end of June).
