Anybody Buying Yet? Where’s the Bottom?

The stock market definitely makes the wealthy wealthier. And it definitely makes the wealthy poorer. But I’m not sure it makes the average Joe more wealthy or more poor. Has the average, below middle class American really felt the pain of this yet? Or are they still focusing on grocery store and gas prices?

Nah nobody is feeling pain from the market right now. I also don’t give two shits about the price of eggs.

Just indicators of things to come is all.

My wifes report on increases in the grocery bill for a LOT more than eggs in recent weeks begs to differ with some thought here.

Sure glad I'm not shopping for a new vehicle right now and bought mine back in December.

Peter Thiel is the money man. Karp is the mad scientist. Money men make the deals happen. I’ll wager a steak dinner on it.
The mad scientist is selling off his shares. How long till all this revenue starts pouring in?

"Palantir has contracts with several Defense Department agencies, including the Air Force, Army, Navy, and Special Operations Command. In total, the company reported $1.2 billion in revenue from U.S. government customers in 2024, representing approximately 42% of total revenue. So, Palantir theoretically has a lot to lose from defense spending cuts."

Inverse proportion of economic distress to palpable glee noted.

no glee. would love, truly love, to see a different future awaiting us.

anyone who is feeling pain from a market that is still up like, what, 130%? over the last 5 years doesn't have enough brain cells to be trusted with investing.

but if it takes economic shock to get people to wake up a little, i'm all for it. seems inevitable at this point.

Like I said, I’ll wager a steak dinner that it’s back to current 52 week high by, let’s say, end of year.
