Any info on CMR/ fort peck Mt for elk

I'm trying to plan an elk hunt next year to take my dad on before he gets too old he got me into hunting and took me out all the time when i was little now its my turn to take him out,and was wondering how the numbers for elk were out there,and if it is hard to draw a tag. We would be going during rifle hunting.thanks for any info

You should take a look at the regs, but I'll sum it up for you- don't plan on drawing a rifle bull tag. Actually don't plan on drawing a rifle bull tag for ten years or more. Cows are possible but not bulls.

Plenty of elk, very hard in most districts

I'm new to the elk hunting have done lots of whitetail and muledeer hunting but not in too many areas with elk, any other helpful hints I could go try to research to elk hunt in mt on public land. Thanks
