Any Doctors here lol

This has been an informative thread fo me. I returned from a snowboarding trip a few weeks ago and started experiencing hip pain that shot down the outside of my thigh shortly after returning home. Doc thought it was hip bursitis and shot me with cortisone. Fast forward 2 weeks, no improvement from the shot. I was gimping around but functional at least. I delivered some lumber to one of my crews and helped out at my daughter’s soccer practice. That night I woke up at 2 AM with the worst pain of my life shooting from my hip down through my calf/shin. It literally brought me to tears which was a first for me in the pain department. ER said my x-ray showed probable L4/L5/S1 spinal degeneration (MRI tomorrow). Meanwhile I’m bedridden. I can’t sit, stand or walk for more than 30 seconds before the level 10 pain grabs hold. It’s a scary spot to be in for a fit, healthy, 43 year old. Hopefully the MRI reveals something that can start me down a treatment path, because I’ve seen no improvement from anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and bed rest ( like I even have a choice). Thanks for listening, this effing sucks especially since it’s opening weekend for turkeys here, and we are supposed to take my daughter on a Disney cruise in about 10 days.🙁

We just got back from our second Disney cruise. I can give you some insight on what you are up against, depending on the ports you chose. PM if you want.

I appreciate that. Unless I see some major improvement I’m not going to be able to travel. Any sitting, standing, or walking quickly leads to crippling pain throughout my left leg. I may try to send Grammy in my place. It’s my Daughter’s first big trip (airplane rides, cruise boat, etc), so I’m hoping they can go. It depends on whether I’m looking at surgery or not I suppose.

Bird dogs ! The exercise , it helped me immensely .

Belated congrats, I can't imagine "no pain", can't remember the last time. Ok, barely remember, my back pain went away when they put me under for my shoulder surgery.
