My hunting buddy’s son wanted to be a pilot. He got a job at a local airport working on.....airplanes. He is in school working on his degree. My buddy’s wife was not into her son going into the military like we suggested. Without military is going to cost more. Private instructors aren’t that much $. It’s the hours renting the plane that cost the most. So my buddy found a good older single engine plane for $75k. They will easily get $75k to $100k out of it when he has enough training hours and sells it. The kid has fixed it up nice. He is now a private pilot working on upgrading his license to commercial. He’s logging thousands of hours on his plane.
He should AT LEAST be able to fly us into some good remote hunting and fishing locations next year. This is just an alternative way than enlisting in the military. My first choice would be military training but it’s not my kid.
