An epic experiment on Lake Superior's islands, starring wolves, moose and caribou

I have been visiting Isle Royale for over 25 years at least every other year or so and have seen the beauty of the island and witnessed the wolf/moose balance with my own eyes. I knew that this was largely an experiment and a "photo op" type deal at its onset, but i had no idea the implications this project has had. I have always been aware of the loss of the woodland caribou and I still wonder about the truth of their decline in the lakes region. So many people are willing to blame anything but people - for the life of me i cant seem to settle on anything but people as the loan source of their demise. It is interesting that the wolves of Isle Royal met their match somehow and were down to a lone pair...many of those of us who hunt the UP in Michigan see wolves as prolific and dominating in the forest - maybe we have been incorrect all along.
