Alert! Az Hunters! Alert!

It will save on printing costs unless you can convince me that it costs the same to write and print every change in rules and policies in two languages. Bottom line is half of the mexican immigrants here legally voted to have english only and that means everyone in the state is tired of Mexico moving their population into this country to suck it dry. Doesn't matter if you agree with it or not, it is now the law and the courts will force implementation after we pay to defend against lawsuits sponsored by Open Borders and the Mexican government.

Matt, YOu need to study the Mexican Immigration Issues. Not only the ones here that so many oppose, but why is Mexico so ademantly opposed to the border fence and the halt to illegal immigration? Why should they be so vocal about thier opposition? What's in it for Mexico to keep this flow going?

As for your questions, I'll answer one. " Who benefits from english only or an official language?" The taxpayers of Arizona. Why should we pay for double printing costs for hunt regs or anything else for that matter?

Danr55- While agree there is a problem and Mexico I'm sure has it's reasons for wanting some things and not wanting others, US policy should not be based on what the "feelings or thoughts" of another country. AZ has made it a law and it will probably cost the state waaaay more in court costs than the time and money that is necessary to print only English documents. I'm sure English only will shore up the only waste in the AZ government spending bills. I'm glad AZ finally got rid of their governmental waste. At times I believe I'm the only conservative on this board. I want smaller government with less spending and rules.

Ringer- until you can convince me that English only will save money in the short term and long term, I won't believe it will.

LMAO... |oo :D

How does what you want mean less spending and less rules??? Were they not required to print everything in Spanish before this new law? Was that not a rule? You're thinking sounds more liberal to me...catering to every little minority group. Like I said before, why is Arizona only printing things in English and Spanish? What about Swedish? What about Japanese, Chinese, French, German, and all the other languages in the world? We wouldn't want to leave anybody out now, would we?

why is Arizona only printing things in English and Spanish?
because over 30% of Arizona residents specka de spanish?
i dont understand the problem you guys have with printing in both spanish and englace.
like was stated, illegals are not buying a hunting license or applying for tags.

But JB, if these Spanish speaking people are in the country legally, then why don't they know English? Huh? Education is free in this country, and all schools teach English. So was Arizona printing hunting regs and other pamphlets in Spanish for people who are here illgally? Do ya think?

no, i dont think so.

they are in the process of learning english. their chirldren will be much better at it than thay are and by the time the third generation comes along they will speak english better than spanish.
if you printed the regs in both spannish and english, this would only aid in their education.
and with the fact that proceeds from the sale of hunting licences come from people who buy them, they are helping pay for it.

i dont see how this connects to illegal immigration.

you know, we could give AZ back to mexico and you guys would have to learn spanish.

I don't agree. Most people who cannot speak English are here illegally, unless they happen to have one of those temporary work visas or whatever they are, which in that case they don't need to be reading the hunting regulations anyway. Think about it...you say 30% of the people in Arizona only speak Spanish. Well, how many of those do you suppose are in the country legally?

you say 30% of the people in Arizona only speak Spanish.

i didnt say that. i said 30% speak spanish, i dont know how many of that 30% speak spanish and english.

it was in a census report, i believe it was a 2004 report.

so are you saying that you should have to be a citizen to be able to hunt here?

Soy cazador apesadumbrado de Washington pero mi madre no habla inglés cualquier... lata de.she, sin embargo, escriba su nombre para cobrarla los cheques....

This document "enables" illegals to apply for resident hunting/fishing licences it 1 of 3 and is 39 pages written exclusively in Spanish.hump

I took a "few" of these off of a stack that was a 1ft. tall [ 3 stacks ]at a local wallmart.... since these spanish regs are at every wallmart/sporting goods store... just think of the costs of the tens of thousands of publications that are written in Spanish only?

Good thing the Smarter" AZ voters did the right thing. :)

J.B. now I know why you are on Ithaca`s ignore list.:D

Here are Arizona`s [all four passed] ballot propositions

Prop. 100 - DENIAL OF BAIL; ILLEGAL ALIENS. Prevents those charged with serious felonies from being eligible for bail if they are in the country illegally.

Prop. 102 - PUNITIVE DAMAGES; ILLEGAL ALIENS. Blocks illegal aliens from being able to obtain punitive damages in lawsuits.

Prop. 103 - ENGLISH AS OFFICIAL LANGUAGE. Requires formal state government action to be conducted in English. Use of a language other than English is permitted in certain cases, e.g., when required by federal law, in actions to protect public health or safety and to promote or conduct tourism or international trade. Informal non-English communications or translations between government officials and the public are permitted but are considered nonbinding.

Prop. 300 - PUBLIC PROGRAMS; ILLEGAL ALIENS. Blocks illegal aliens from receiving state-subsidized programs for adult education and child care; denies illegal aliens eligibility to participate in state-run adult education classes or family literacy programs.
