Pretty stoked. My wife was able to take a nice full curl ram on a our week long DIY hunt in the Alaska range last week.

My wife and I moved up to Alaska 3 years ago from SW Montana and last year she drew a good Caribou tag and she was able to take a nice bull.

This year she drew a Tok Mgmt dall sheep tag and we flew into the Alaska Range for a 7 day DIY hunt.

She ended up taking a 320 yard steep downhill shot on the last day and put the ram down instantly with a hit to the spine and shoulder. It was the toughest hunt we've ever done. As of now she says she's going to stick with elk and caribou because their "easy" by comparison. I think as soon as our muscles are recovered she'll want to head back to the alpine. Maybe I'll get a chance to shoot something while we're up here but for now I don't mind playing the guide as long as she keeps drawing great tags.

Good luck to all of you this season.

Cool stuff, even if it makes me feel like a puss for not having ever done a hunt that is as intriguing as that. Congrats to your wife.

Very nice! Looks like a heck of a leg workout. The 'bou in camp was a nice touch. I'll be back in your neck of the woods end of next May. Actually ate at the Silverback if I remember right on our last trip and drove up to the lodge to take a look. Going to try our luck at some fishing while we do some house hunting. Would love to tackle some of the critters you guys have, but think sheep are a bit out of my league. By the time I'm ever ABLE to move I may be too beat up to climb around like that!

I hope I get the chance to do this someday, you only make me want to do it more. Thanks for sharing! Congrats!
