How much if any difference is there between 06ai and 280ai in any caliber? Same parent case, should be all but equal, right?

Honestly, I used to do this. I have 100 pieces of Peterson on back order right now. Trying to do this differently from here out. Probably should have ordered 250.

My .260 Remington is the shortest on brass and that’s 500 pieces.

Suggested above, 6.5-06AI and 6.5x280AI. Are these exactly the same, if not how close are they?

Few more grains of powder in the 280ai version. Shoulder’s bumped up a little further. For all intents and purposes, they’re interchangeable (not interchamberable)

If i remember correctly, the head to datum is different on the standard 280 Rem vs other 06' family of cases.
The 280AI being based off the standard 280 Rem.

Necking down a case usually ends up resulting in some capacity loss. Granted, usually not alot, but...

Depending on the rifling twist rate of your barrel, a 7mm (280, 284) can shoot anything from a 100gr varmint bullet to a 197gr Sierra MatchKing.
