Maybe your question should have been “what does my 7-08 do that a .220 Swift wouldn’t?”

Genuinely curious, not meant to be taken the wrong way or contentious, no alternative motive, but just genuinely curious, how many of those trophies did you know about from your job, or was it mostly boots on the ground scouting? You live in God’s country for sure.Buck I killed back in 1985. 100 yard shot. 220 Swift, 55gr Hornady. My first 30” buck.
None of them…Genuinely curious, not meant to be taken the wrong way or contentious, no alternative motive, but just genuinely curious, how many of those trophies did you know about from your job, or was it mostly boots on the ground scouting? You live in God’s country for sure.
I want to congratulate you on some impressive animals, and on turning this into a compelling thread for the .220 Swift!None of them…
Most of the pictures I’ve posted in this thread are of critters I killed before I hired on as a government trapper. I’ve never pursued a big game animal I’ve seen from the air in all my years of aerial hunting predators..
I’d never jeopardize my career over a trophy big game animal, and trust me, I’ve seen some eye poppers from the sky.
You're not alone! My body count is zero and I have spent considerable time and effort. I guess I’m the 40 year old virgin.
Do you shoot birds? mtmuleyYou're not alone!
That’s really cool and admirable, thanks for the responseNone of them…

The only Hornady product I use is the 40 grain V-Max in my .222 Remington. It loves them. mtmuleyThis thread motivated me to keep stocking up. Fortunately these are still about $16/100.
